This November is the first opportunity for residents of Costa Mesa District 6 to elect a representative and have a direct voice on our City Council.
An attorney and urban planner by trade, Jeff Harlan currently serves on the Costa Mesa Planning Commission as Vice Chair, and was a Board member of the Costa Mesa Community Foundation for eight years.
An established resident of Eastside Costa Mesa, Jeff and his wife, Melinda, have raised their daughters Sophie, 16, and Evie, 13, to be involved in our community and take pride in all that Costa Mesa has to offer. Sophie and Evie both attend local Newport-Mesa schools.
In addition to teaching his daughters tennis and coaching their AYSO soccer teams, Jeff has been a longtime advocate for more local parks and trails in Costa Mesa, previously serving on the City’s Santa Ana River Trail Vision task force.
Take your ballot to an official ballot drop box or vote in-person at a local vote center.
All voters in California received a mail-in ballot this year. There is also same-day voter registration at Vote Centers for your convenience.
This year, Eastside voters have the first opportunity to elect a representative and have a direct voice for our neighborhoods on the City Council.
The City of Costa Mesa now elects City Councilmembers through a system of district elections with the Mayor elected at-large.
For more than 25 years, Jeff has dedicated a career to working with and within government to improve communities.
